Referral letters for private consultations

Please do not arrange private consultations before your referral letter has been prepared.
Patients should allow 10 working days for the completion of referral letters. These letters are not charged to patients.

Requesting a letter from Your GP

GPs are increasingly being asked to undertake private, non-NHS work on behalf of patients. A fee is charged for this work to reflect the time involved outside of core NHS duties and the level of professional responsibility required. While we aim to complete all requests as efficiently as possible, patients should allow at least 6 weeks from receipt of payment.

Below, we have provided a general guide to our private work fees; however, not all services are listed. For further details on specific charges, please contact our GP Assistant on 01283 812210.
We will NOT begin any work without the fee being paid.

Private work fees

Our updated private work fees are as follows:

• Firearms Proforma: £150
• Half page GP report: £80
• Full page GP report: £130
• Insurance Report without set fixed price: £130 (starting price)
• Face to Face Appointment 20+ mins (in regards to completing insurance paperwork): £150
• HGV Examination and Paperwork: £150
• A form to be completed by a GP £60 (starting price)
• Holiday cancellation form £67
• Medical report – without examination £90
• Adoption medical £150

Tasks taking longer than 1 hr to complete will be charged in 15 min intervals at £50.00 per 15 mins.
